Inspect. Insulate. Save
A properly insulated attic space reduces the amount of heat that travels between your attic and the living space of your home. During the summer the heat from your attic is seeping into your home causing your ac to run longer, and vice versa in the winter, you are losing the heat from your home into your attic. As you can imagine losing all that energy costs extra money and having a well insulated attic can help save up to 30% on your energy bills.
Service One can inspect your attic and let you know if you are in need of insulation. We have three options to choose from:
- AttiCat® Expanding Blown-In PINK® FiberglasTM – our recommended product, it is broken up and fluffed while being blown in, adding millions of tiny air pockets that give the material it’s insulating power. This allows the materials to not settle, keeping your home comfortably insulated for years to come.
- Cellulose Blow-In – this is a blown in product that is made up of recycled newspapers treated with borax and contains no fiberglass.
- Spray-in Foam – spray-applied plastic that forms a continuous insulation and air sealing barrier on roofs, walls, around corners and on all contoured surfaces.
Another space that loses energy is your attic door. In most cases the attic door is not insulated, which is why we offer the Attic Tent. It is an insulated cover that fits around your attic opening creating a thermal barrier to reduce the loss of heat.
To help reflect some of the heat from ever getting into your home, make sure to check out our radiant barrier.
